Antec Mini P180 *Rebuild*

I like these but after running a few figures, I actually don't think it's much shorter than the regular P180, also it's much bigger as far as volume is concerned?

Kinda defeats the point of "SFF" - it must be almost big enough to get a full ATX board in.

Well, I don't think it was ever meant to be an SFF. more like...errm...you know what..I have no idea. it's in Antec's MEDIUM range. but yeah it's rather deceiving. It's true you cant fit a normal ATX mobo in it without modding. but frankly..it's a stunning case..

Just started fitting in some components in it as i just could nott wait! and it was well worth it. stunning case. Plus i got it for £40 so i can't complain! Cant' wait to mod it as CONAN257 has.

my p180 mini is doing the job well. got the scythe s-flex fans in too so its great. here are some pics, case is big for a micro atx setup. fits the tuniq tower 120 in it easy peasy:

id say this case is deffo worth its 45 quid price tag.

and yes i do need to get the vac on the front of that cooler master case, can see the dust in it a mile off thanks to the flash. lol.

antec p180 mini is on wooden board cuz there is a air intake on the bottom of the case and although it has a dust filter in it, i dont want it on the carpet doing the vaccuming for me. pointless buying the dyson if thats the case.

Nice one mate, looks first class ;)

Your 24pin power connection is in a rubbish place, same with mine :o

Well more than a week has gone by since i have been using this case so i thought id just let you know my thoughts so far.

Its a very quiet case, and everyday i seem to notice how much quieter it is compared with my previous cases (apeiva, antec, etc). A window would be nice one day, but still thinking about it as i dont want to ruin its sleek looks.

Temps:

CPU: 30c HDD: 32c (Bios/Speed Fan)
GPU: 50c (gpuz)

So temps arent to bad and this is with the 200mm top antec exhaust fan on low, 120mm sharkoon intake at 700rpm, and 120mm sharkoon exhaust at 700rpm.

If i turn the sharkoons up to 2000rpm (max) and the 200mm top fan to high i get the following temps:

CPU: 27c
GPU: 45c

All in all its doing great and i really like this case.

EDIT: and i only have currently the 2 120mm sharkoons attached to the fan controller and havent attached any temp probes yet (i wanted to reduce cable clutter) so unsure whether i will bother.

Just found my parcel (with my dvd drive/sata cable in it) soaked with water around the back of my house. I did check a few days ago to see if it had been left there so it must have been delivered recently. So far so good with the stuff inside, though it was really cold and the plastic bags were wet, the dvd drive appeared dry. Installed it, and it is working fine...so far :rolleyes:

My rad for the top fan is on the way, hopefully I might get it tomorrow, in which case pics of its preliminary fitting will go up on here by wednesday night... Just hope its going to fit!

iv been using this p180 mini now for a week now and i agree with the posts above that its very good at dampening sound. the antec 900 amplified the noise of my raptor drive but its near enough silent in this p180 mini case.

the clear side panel in the above post looks good but id prefer the original panel due to its noise blocking abilities.

Think I'll keep my P182. Really dont like the look of the little holes in the front. Although I do find air circulation is compromised with thelack of places for air to enter. Hence mine always seem to run hotter than I am really comfertable with.

The main issue with putting a window inside is the 5mm+ depth of the side panel.. So instead of seeing the perspex outside, you'll see lots of case and in inset window...

I'm hoping to find someone who can cut me a window hole and perspex the same size to get around this issue.

Been investigating it, albeit with a competitor and apparantly the side panel is thicker than most steel cases but they said there shouldnt be a problem. I basically just want a sqaure/rectangle about the size of the motherboard, ie just showing the motherboard and not the hard drives or what have you.

I am guessing that this will fit on the mini p180 seeing as it also uses a 200mm fan for the top exhaust.

So many steps along the way...

I'll get photo's as soon as I can get hold of the mrs camera...

Got a heater matrix mounted in the top being held in by a perspex panel thats bolted to the rear fan mount.
Lost use of both the upper 5.25 and the upper 3.5 bays... The lower 3.5 is also out so now I have to find a way to mount my 2 hdd's...

Got a shiny aquastream XT ultra sat here, but not enough barbs to hook everything up and get it tested.
