Antec Mini P180 *Rebuild*

Update:

Alright, a small update.

Using an old hdd silencer that i have used in previous builds, i have mounted my hard drive, albeit a bit cramped in the bottom 5.25" drive bay. Luckily noise/vibration levels remained pretty much the same since i moved from the antec hard drive cage.

Then i have gone an installed another 120mm sharkoon silent eagle into the top front to act as an intake of cool air.

Also tried to sort out cables a bit better but it is a pretty tight fit to get the right side panel back on, (especially with that round ide cable) and i managed to get it on after some persistance.

The outcome: fantastic, this case just plows on and i am impressed. All of the above was done with ease and the build quality of this case is (again) superb. Now i have some serious cooling which will, with out a doubt beat most cases on the market (antec 900, 300, etc) and now i have:

120mm fan Front Intake which blows air directly to the cpu.
120mm fan Front Intake which goes straight to the gpu.
120mm fan Rear Exhaust and a Top Exhaust 200mm fan.

At the moment, on a fan controller, i have them all down to reasonable levels of rpm 1000 or less (600 some times), which makes for a nice quiet system but gives me the option to ramp up the 120mm fans to 2000rpm, which produces some incredible airflow.

As soon as my photobucket account is sorted out, i will post some updated pics. All in all, im very very impressed ;)

I've managed to mount 2 3.5" hdd's in the bottom 5.25 bay and still manage to fit my 2 slimline opticals in the higher of the 2 bottom 5.25 bays...

Awesome.

Some pics would be much appreciated.

The only thing i am finding is it is a little tight in the bottom department with all the psu cables and dvd and hdd cables. But its all working so its alright.

These pics should work so here is an update:

If not just give it a a day (said on the 9th of the month they should be back up and working).

I like the internals of the case but hate the front door. I don't like to have a door on a case.

Do Antec do a case with the same internals but without the door?

I like the internals of the case but hate the front door. I don't like to have a door on a case.

While i would agree with you on most cases that i have seen/used that have a door are pretty poor consisting of plastic and a bit of a gimmick.

But it really suits the mini p180, and i wouldnt have it any other way, expect i wish the so called air vents on the front werent there but its a minor flaw which i can over look. Its also amazing how much the door helps with noise dampening. The door uses (i believe) the three layer panels, which is also used in the side panels. This gives the door good stability and it feels nice and strong yet not heavy.

Just had another crack at cable management and spent 2 hours or so trying to figure out the best way for the 24pin/4pin. But i have settled for how i had it before. I tried having it so it came from the top right hole, and down by the ram and under the heatsink just above the graphics card but it was too much of a stretch, and then i tried using an extension and it looked worse because i couldnt quite hide the other end of the extension round the back.

Sorted out usb cable and other front panel cables, a lot better, so they arent in view. Ran sata cable round the back instead of down the hole at the bottom of the chamber.

Until i get a new motherboard and a new hard drive, one day, then cable will be much better.
