Antec Mini P180 *Rebuild*

Thinking of getting this case, which features?

Things like the bottom chamber, which can be a bit of a squeeze - especially since I have a HDD and DVD drive down there with the PSU. Its not too bad, you just need to make sure you know where you want to route the wires...SATA drives are a must as my old IDE drive with its rounded IDE cable was a bit tight. ;)

Oh right. On a competitors site theres a black one and a gunmetal for sale. Priced differently too.

No idea mate, where is this from exactly? :o

I just got one of these cases for a i5 build the cabling layout for my gigabyte board was bit annoying but the case management at the back is great I didn't use the bottom chamber to top device it served no purpose for my board layout all round good little case but some points on the case are annoying

the bottom section which has that filter on the ground I don't see the point in it if it was going to be put anywhere it should have been the place the psu itself is placed not the middle and with larger psu they are raised when they go on to the plastic filter in the middle also with drives like hddvd one it can be a very tight fit down.

The next annoying bit is those two drive cages the bottom one will be removed by most people which then you can say that ones fine but the way the top one faces is stupid they should have let people flip it so you take it out place hard drives in it then slide it in so the sata/power connectors are at the back this could have been done as an option with the plastic rails on the cage.

The last thing the top drive bay i don't think was thought out that well there is a fair few drives that can't fit in there.

Resurrection of this thread as im looking at water cooling my mini p180 however i have a bit of a task. Ive just bought a second 5870 i want to water cool my CPU, NB and both 5870s.

I really like the idea i saw in here with the PA 160.1 in the roof and the PA 120.1 in the back i was also thinking of putting another PA 120.1 in the front of the case.

Here is what i have currently

i was thinking of getting something like the koolance res/pump combo to go in the top CD bay (if it will fit)

if not i could get the XSPC bay res for dual DDC pumps to go in the bottom CD bays.

depends what you have in it

I have top and front fans set to medium speed and its not bad at all the top fan is the loudest.

I use the corsair fan as the pull on my h50 and the antec tri speed fan as the push again running at medium speed.

I could get away with the top fan on low but the front fan has a massive effect on the temps of my 5870. With it on low temps start to go up with it on medium or high there is little difference so i leave it on medium.

i dont think there is much size difference in this and the antec 300 though and this only takes mATX boards.

Im thinking about getting on. Will it be able to take 4 HDDs (1 ide, 3 sata)

I currently have a sonata 2 and by measurement it isnt much bigger, but it does look it. I also have an ide cd/dvd drive but it the ide cable wont stretch to take both hdd and dvd

Cheers,

Its just really to do with the layout of of the P180 is far better compared to the 300

I take it the front and top fans you are using are stock fans?
