Finally took the plunge and got myself a side window fitted! I love it! Just needs a tidy up and possibly abit more lighting round the edge.

Whole thing including fitting cost me £30

That looks great mate...been thinking about doing this to mine for like ages (you've probably read my thread on the Mini P180).

How does it affect noise levels?

And do tell us where you got it done or if you did it yourself.

It's not quite finished yet, still needs a rubber seal on the inside to tidy up the inner edges. Right the details, I contacted a company in stavely, Chesterfield called LIP (laminate insulation and plastics) contact telephone number: 01246 475077 who did me a custom job. I won't disclose the price but expect a good reasonable price

. The longer the time you give them the more the can do with it and tidy things up for you. The panel was CNC machine cut and then Perspex put over the top.

Noise wise, if I'm honest it is a little noisier than before but not really notticeable. With the rubber seal placed on the inside I think it will be a lot quieter. Of course this also depends on your fan setup and cooling system. I have 3 enermax magma twister fans running at 60% and the big boy 200mm fan at full speed always.

Why so fast on the big boy? I never found it made any difference when I had a Mini

Because min and max speed noise levels are pretty much the same so I just keep it on max

Just out of interest, what are you fan speeds for your other fans? I only run mine at 50% most of the time apart from the GPU external fan which is at 60% speed.

I have four sharkoon silent eagle fans on a fan controller. 2 at the front, 1 at back and 1 on the Cpu cooler all running at 1000rpm.

Nice and quiet is how I like it but I know some people don't mind the noise and if I put those fans on 2000rpm it really does sound like a mini hovercraft.
