Hello, i have read many reviews about this case, most say the cable management is a pain the lack of a M/B tray that is removable, and the fittings are not screwless, but all in all i think its a cool case but what does every one else think?

im thinking of getting this case with my Crossfire 939 board.

Oh and any one suggest a decent 939 crossfire board that i could get??

im also toying with the idea of getting this case. but i have read somewhere that the graprhics card hole doesnt line up correctly with the card

Picture010.jpg

see the way the card sits too high and prevents the dvi cable to fit in the port

someone said that the person who fitted the mobo didnt use the correct screw holes on the case. i cant see this being a problem but just something i want to clear up before i was to buy

ive heard that too and im sure if it is a case flaw then maybe alittle modding time will solve that but i understand that you dont want to mod a case to work properly the first time

I was reading the newer cases don't have this problem, and if you do get a dodgy one you can get it swapped out.

Not Crossfire, but......

I didn't have that problem when I transplanted my PC across to the Antec 900 a few day's back. The only problem I encountered was with the metal surround for the mouse/keyboard/USB/Audio sockets on the back. For some reason the connections on my mobo, an A8N-SLi, just wouldn't line up.

Simple solution though, I just removed the metal surround as it pushes out quite easily. Anyway, it's not like us people on a PC forum won't know what each connector is without an embossed piece of metal telling us.

The dual DVI slots on my 7900GS are dead centre in the slot.

dood...you are meant to use the silver panel that came with your motherboard...not the one that is actaully in the case. Just about all motherboards come with a panel and you just swap out the case one with the motherboard one!

this shield is supposed to limit rfi intererence...that is it's purpose. So if I was you I would remove your mobo, install the shield that came with it and reinstall the board.

Changed to an Antec Nine Hundred a couple of weeks ago and am well pleased with it. I didn't have any problem with the DVI connections on my card either and mine is an earlier version like that shown in the picture.

There is no motherboard tray but there is more room in there than in my previous "normal" tower cases so I'm not bothered about that.

Cable management is pretty much non-existent (just two rubber cable straps on the back of the HD space) so you have to be pretty creative with your own cable ties etc.

The fittings aren't screwless but the HD enclosures are fastened with thumbscrews so at least you don't need a screwdriver to get them out. You still need a screwdriver to get the drives out of the enclosures though.

The case has great airflow, it isn't too noisy IMO and looks great with a Saitek Eclipse 2 keyboard (blue LEDs match).

Yeah, I know that. The fact is I'm a heavy handed bugger and somehow managed to ruin mine. That's why I didn't use it. I was just hoping by some twist of fate that they'd line up.

contact the manufacturer of the board...im sure they could sort you out with another one for free if their customer service is any way decent!

mine arrived today, fitted it all up and my HIS x1650 fits in fine.

the fans on high are quite loud and shift a crap load of air, on low or medium they are virtually silent, the only fans i can hear atm are the stock heatsinc and the RAM cooler than came with my mobo.

mines one of the first editions.
EDIT: although reading some of the reviews mine appears to have the old frame but with the new style fans (clear not black).
as seen on the left.

h e x u s.. dunno why thats blocked?

Looks a nice case, my only critisium is the quality of the case its self , very PC W***d are the panels made of same quality.

My mate seems to like it. It's a bit too bling for me. Maybe 2-3 years ago I would have liked it. Only tried the led fans/uv cathodes once years ago, in a Globalwin I think. I think it was called the UFO or Roswell...was one of the first cases to push the idea of modded cases into the mainstream and back them it was something fresh. One day I left the pc on with the side panel off and the cat came along and whizzed into it. Suprisingly the inwards were ok..it was only the cathodes that blew !!

the case itself metal wise is good quality, the side panels are the pretty good quality aswell. shame about the plasic they used on the top where the large fan and stuff tray is.
