I need a PSU for an Antec P180 Case + P5WD2 Premium Mobo + Pentium 4 Dual Core 3 ghz .

Do I need a psu that is atx 2.2 compliant or will a 2.0 compliant psu still work? I'm confused by these atx compliant standards. Can someone please advise.

It's my first time building a computer from scratch.

Cheers for any help! :)

What is the difference between 2.01 and 2.2?

Cheers!

Next to nothing is the quick answer, as the increments suggest it is a minor improvement. You can read about it all here in entirely extraneous detail but to save you the effort a 2.2 compliant PSU has to comply with more stringent efficiency requirements and have higher amps on the 12V rail, however note this doesn't necessarily make them any better than older PSUs, simply that they have been tested as compliant when the new standards come out and the older PSU may well have exceeded the standards anyway although not been re-tested. :)

So I can still use a 2.01 or any 2.xx spec PSU with the P5WD2 Premium Mobo + Pentium 4 D 3 ghz?

I just need to clear things up before I go ahead and splash out with my cash. ;)

Cheers everyone!
