As title, got my decision down to these two, carnt decide which though, or any other suggestions? must have at least 6x 3.5" bays, 5.25" not a problem

Antec for less money, but the drives mount vertically, little ventilation -as such- around psu

Lian Li, more money, but all drives mount horizontally, less vent around harddrives, more around psu

Total silence not required, but resonably quiet with a few 'silent' 120mm fans, also odd mainboard (in that ram next to outputs) with the DFI SLI Expert, 2.8 A64 and a x1800XT 512 (gets VERY hot)

The v1000+ gets my vote, will be slightly noisier than the antec.

One thing to note is the v1000+ with a modular PSU can only handle 4 Hdd's. (not really a draw back as all of your modular cables would be plugged in over that anyhow :p).

It is built better than the p180 and looks quite nice in person, some pics on www.yewen.co.uk of my one.

They are good cases and a steal at the current price!

It can, but you will have to remove one HD cage, that means you can only fit 4 HDD's in the case.

V1000+ for a overall stylish case

P180 for silence

p180 then, but remember it has a door, see if you can open it.

V1000+ is a nicer looking and quality case. But P180 has much better cooling.

I will just stay out of the you saying the v1000+ has bad cooling argument, as same system in both it is the same / 3 deg lower on the v1000 in the only direct same system comparisson ive ever known done.

Yewen, I agree the V1000+ has better-

-Quality

-Looks

-Build Quality

-Resellability

-Looks (again)

-Lastability

-Space

But the P180 has better cooling, it has the best cooling in a MIDI tower that I know of.

The v1000+ when set up correctly has been able to level peg any case I have used at the same noise levels bar the stackers and TJ07.

Its just my experience of the case, one of the reasons why I still have the same case for getting on for 9 months now

Why I am looking foreward to the new ones :D

Bye Bye v1000+ finally, second system for you!

(not a insult to the v1000+, I used to change my main rigs case on a bi-montly basis until I found the v1000, and then the v1000+ but I really think I need something new for the main rig, as it is quite sad all the bits and quirks of the v1000's that I now know :p)

Can you please back up your one line answers.

Using both with very comparable systems the v1000+ was cooler, 2 deg irrc on a 4200 v 4400 system reporting with two TR3a's.

The p180 will be quieter, not built aswell as the Lian Li and cools marginally worse.

Both are good cases and are more than up to the job of cooling ANY system at reasonable noise levels and low temperatures.
