Hi all

I am going to be getting this case and was woundering if u can replace the system fans that come with the case fo better air flow and less noise fan versions ?

If u can can u also use the controler on other fans ?

What do u think of the case for cooling and sound levels as I was going to go for a fractal design d2 case but decided this might be a better case.

Want a quiet case

Also going to be fitting a seasonic gold to this case does it have good air flow for the psu as I noticed the case does not have any cut out for the psu fan

and just one more question is this case designed to be like a hugh heatsink as I have read this case pulls heat away from the motherboard and harddrives never herd of a car doing that ?

Thanks on any help or info

i have a p182SE, so might not be exactly the same but since you have no replies so far ill chuck my offerings in.

You can replace the case fans, of course, however you would need to look at taking the slide switch off of the originals and re-wire it to your new fans, as to what make/model of fan you will need to voltage control and how easy this is done, i dont know, i was wondering myself.

controlling other fans would involve the same process as above, unless you use a deidcated fan controller

my p182se can be quiet but i leave it on full power, as i use headphones, and i have not changed the supplied fans

In regards to the PSU, my 182 has a bracket thats sits round the psu to secure it and leaves about 2 cm of gap where the fan would draw air in from underneath, my psu however does need do that, but its there if you need it, i imagine its the same on the p183

my 182 is steel and plastic so not as good as alu for the heatsink idea, but if the 183 is anything like the 182 stick 2 intake fans in the front and dont look back

If your looking for a heatsink case, not to sure what that is, i would look at the skeleton. Yes its not really a case but if your looking for maximum heat escaping thats somthing to look at

Probably not helpful at all, but im bored

Thanks for the help , I suppose i could just replace the fans with a 3 header fan like fractal or somthing better and just plug it into the motherboard as the fractal moves the same amount of air as the low setting but 10db lower.

I want quiet case the best I can get and was not happy with the fractal design case and this seems to be the next best thing but having much better cooling

be careful with the dp as they are not exact. There is no basis of testing being stated, trust specific reviews, which if your posting on Ocuk i imagine you have done already

dp ?

would a seasonic 650w fit ok as when i tried it in the fractal case as the holes on the bottem blocked about 25% of the intake of the psu fan which i found terrible

i see there is a cut out for the fan on the p183 but wounder if its centre to the psu as the psus instake fan has a slight raised part

thanks

I have the P182, im not sure how the dimension of your PSU compares the but Corsair HX620W PSU fits perfectly andit's dimensions are 150mm(W) x 86mm(H) x 150mm(L).

If you look at the pic below, there's an additional stock fan sitting in between the PSU and the HDD compartment.

If you're worried about your PSU fan sticking out a little, the P182 case has a cut-away section for that to slot through the back. You should be fine.
