Antec P190 Case...Wow!!

Hi everyone...

You lot prolly know all about this case but I didn't, I just stumbled across it on toms hardware and all I an say is "wow"!

If you want the best, this has got to be it....but I just had a very quick gander and it's £230 on <ahem....somewhere else!!> :D .....ya get what ya pays for though!

And for £230 I'd settle for nothing less than a Soldam ;)
 
The P190 is like a 'stretch limo' version of the P182 really according to a review I read, which is a good way to describe it I think!

It's something like 82mm longer, but the same width and height. It gives you a bit more room for graphics cards and the like. The P190 now has two x 120mm fans in the roof, which gives you options to install a double rad I guess. You also still get the 120mm rear exhaust fan, and all are adjustable for speed.

One of the main differences is the 200mm case side fan which blows air into the graphics card region, which I think is a good idea.

It's also got a flexi torch thing in the roof that you can pull down to light whatever you're working on, but as you need the power on for that, I'm not sure how good an idea that is!

The two PSU's is a bit of a downside, as you also need two plug sockets, and I can't help feel it would have been better to just put one decent PSU in there?

If you like Antec P series cases though, then I guess you can't go too far wrong. I just wish they did it without the PSU's, as the extra space would come in handy for watercooling etc.

Just a quick correction Tooks, it's 2x 140mm on the roof. Also 2x 120mm on front, and the option to fit another 120mm behind the upper HDD cage, providing its got no HDDs in it (for extra VGA airflow).

Quite a monster, I'm not sure about the PSU arrangement. It's probably superior in performance to a single high wattage unit but as mentioned, two plugs...

I'd have one though. :)

Yes, nice case, and I'd have one tomorrow if they did a "no-psu's" option!

The door thing is a matter of personal taste I guess, but the Antec doors do fold back 270 degrees to be flat against the side panel so they don't get in the way. Easy to remove as well if you want to lose it altogether!
 
No more than a single PSU of the same total output.

Two PSU's may even be more efficient as the second unit (intended to run disk drives etc) may not be so heavily utilised.
 
2PSU's is a bad idea even if Antec are quite reliable you have still doubled the chance of a PSU failing and taking half your kit with it....
 
The psu's on the Antec suck. They are not modular so cabling is messy, and the 2nd psu ONLY has cables for sata and ide. So you can't split your graphics card load. So for someone running 2x2900xt's they might be in a spot of bother considering they would be running the lot off one average psu, along with their quad core, and Antec's aint exactly the best built or most reliable psu around..certainly behind Seasonic,Corsair,Enermax,Silvertsone etc.. And to top it all off both psu's only run 80mm fans so are not the quietest when the thing gets going. I can't see the point of this case to be honest at that price.
