I have currently a Antec PlusView1000AMG case, which has room for four 80mm case fans + 1 side fan for cooling.

Im looking to upgrade to a silent pc build. Upgrading the PSU and the case fans to something more quieter.

Should I install quiet components into this case or upgrade my case to the Antec P150 or SLK3000B which i understand have bigger diammeter case fans.

Is there a worthwhile second hand market for cases if i was to sell my Antec PlusView1000AMG case?

A loud PC in any case will be loud, try to lower the volume in your current case, to work out if the case is making to much noise volt mod or just unplug your fans once the rest of the PC is silenced.

I've got the exact same case fitted with Akasa Amber 80mm fans powered through a fan controller. When the speed is reduced just slightly it's whisper quiet. The loudest component in my system is now probably the CPU fan.

Hope this helps :)

I know my cpu fan is loud, and the PSU fans especially are very loud...so they are the first to get replaced.

Anyone reccomend a cpu heatsink+fan which isnt too loud yet still able to cool?
I have an Athlon XP 2500+ chip. I think its socket A design motherboard.

And im going to go for the Hiper 580w type R psu to replace my QTEC PSU.

Your best bet for socket A would be something like a ThermalRight SI-97 fitted with an Akasa Amber or Vantec Stealth fan.

Hope this helps ;)
