Hi

I recommend if you are planning on buying a new Antec case and/or PSU to get in soon.

There are substantial price increases due the end of this week.

The increases will average at around 10-15% per product.

The count-down timer is on.....

Is it just the antec cases? Wanted a new one soon (but not this week), if its just antec ill just have to go with my other option :p.

Had a feeling this would start to happen.... even between seeing reviews of the Twelve Hundred last year and buying one before Christmas, the price was nearly 25 quid more than the reviews, so I guess they'll be even higher now.

Get your Twelve Hundreds while they're at a good price I say!

Interestingly enough I have read similar from similar companies and products, so appears to be a gradual thing across electrical areas (that i know of). One even talk of 20% increase from next week from one manufacturer. Fingers are itching to decide whether my need is really a luxury or a need.

The 300 price has gone up loads already, used to be £30-35 when it first came out, now its £50+. Still a pretty good case for the money, beaten by the CM690 though.
Lol just saw the 900 price, £88, it used to be £50! Crazy....

Antec price increase, combined with a poor Euro exchange rate means a hefty price increase.

The price increases are incoming for other brands too.

I have taken the last of the 300 / 900 /1200 / 2480 / 3480 / P182 / Sonata III cases that are available prior to the price increases. However the quantities were not excellent, so very soon the prices will go up more :(

stopped buying pc stuff too expensive. power supplies prices are becoming a joke now.

Same here. My current system will have to do now for at least a couple of years. I've now turned to the dark side and bought an xbox for gaming so no need to spend hundreds of pounds upgrading to the latest graphics card etc.

EDIT: I've just noticed that the price of my case has gone up from the £46 that I paid for it to £83.84. Absolutley ridiculous!

imho the Antec 300 is worth nowhere near the current price, I begrundingly paid £35 for mine I rate the Coolermaster CM-530 higher than the antec, had that one for a while now too.

Its just a shame that theres not erally any decent budget cases now :(

With the prices going up as much as they are, OcUK could be in for a very tough year.

Makes me wonder about buying a new build full stop now :( ... However there's still some bargains if bought from state side now, back up to 1.5 ish ...

Still not cheap cheap due to higher shipping costs etc ...

I just dont think this X2 3800+ would get through the next year of releases etc ...

Might just build a cheaper £600 system to last me a year or 2, then when hopefully we've all sorted ourselves out I can look into top end (ish) again ...

Either that or I'll need a wheelbarrow load of cash to buy a SATA cable!

Germany in the 1920's/30's started like this ... However they did have to pay for a war in there, so perhaps we wont be that bad.

If you think that's bad then wait till you see what some of the other vendors have coming. The Logitech Z-5500 speakers for example are going to be over £200 +VAT.

Certain vendors like Logitech, Antec etc had held their prices across last year despite the pound falling flat against the Euro and a 40% drop in the pound against the $. They've all realised that actually it's costing them a hell of a lot of money and so having to increase prices. Creative Labs made a loss last year overall which gives you an idea of how much money some of these companies have lost and they're out to make it back.

I agree with you all that a) people will stop buying and b) doing it when business is key is daft but if you were head honcho's of these big companies and just saw the bottom line as a minus...what would you do?

We'll be getting prepared and start to buy a load of stock up but obviously there's a limit of how much we can buy and how long we can make it last before we have to pass on 100% of the increase.

Kind of makes the Performance to Cost ration more important now then before the prices do hit the 100% raise mark.

No end in sight just yet then. I'm starting to think we're going to have to hit rock bottom before we can start to rise again ... Oh woe'is me lol ... :D
