Is the PSU fan meant to be spinning at all times?

Built my PC and turned it on and it's installing Windows XP yet the PSU fan isn't spinning and it feels hot.

There was a blue and black wired cable coming from the PSU with three holes on the end that looked like it would fit one of the fan connections on the motherboard.

Didn't plug it in though because I found nothing about it in any manual.

Is this the power for the fan?

Mine runs noticeably hotter than my old qtec (maily as the fan doesn't come on very often) but it's still only reasonably warm and my system's stable.

Was going to ask if it is excessively hot or not.

PSU's usually run hot, if your rig is stable then do not worry about it.

I had a feel last night of my old computer, which had been on all day, and tbh it was barely warm...

Is there a way I can check the temperature of my PC or something to check if things aren't overheating?

You can use speedfan to check the main temps but as far as I know there's no software to check psu temps. I think the antec psu are designed to run fairly warm though.

Mine runs pretty warm, certainly warmer than an other PC I've owned! I don't think i've ever seen/heard that fan spin up. Haven't had any problems with my rig since i got it though so shouldn't be a problem!

If the PC is stable, then everything is fine.

Most hardware will reset/turn off before damage happens in this day and age.

Don't worry, be happy :p

Ah cheers.

Originally I used them to mount the plate on to the hard drive.. :o Kinda realised that wasn't what they are intended for when one fell out :D.

They are isolation mounts, used to stop the fan from making vibrations.

You can buy more if you ever need to, they are usually quite good.
