Has anyone else got one of these? I bought one the other day and I'm not that impressed with it so far. Hasn't made any real impact on temps and despite being on a felxible mounting, it won't stay in place! It just flops arround like a limp winky, at the moment I have it held in place using a cable tie. I was hoping by having it blowing over the side of my GX2 it might lower the temps however I can't see any difference.

Has anyone manage to use one of these to good effect?

I would gladly pay more for one without LED's as well!

you meant to screw it down :P

I have mine screwed into one of my pci slots pulling air of my 4850 & has helped quiet a bit.

If you dont like the leds cut them out or put black nail polish on them (later requires emo friends)

i've got one, it doesn't have led's though, had it a while so I guess I got in before the "zomg, must add led's for it for uber case looks" bug kicked in.

Its pretty good, I use it for memory cooling, for the GX2, I can't remember but isn't it a covered heatsink with a blower style fan at one end, in which case, a Antec spot cool won't do anything to be honest. You might get ever so slight cooling on a memory spread on the back/top side of the card but even that will be minimal. If you took the shroud off the heatsink then had the fan blowing onto the uncovered heatsink you probably would see a difference, otherwise, no.

Its not a bad fan but its fairly small and when on quiet mode not great airflow, I only got it as 4x1gb crucial had 2 lots of rma's, crappy heatspreaders and 4 sticks kills any airflow between the sticks, its certainly helped as only a little airflow is needed. Really thats what you want it for, maybe a little airflow to a passive northbridge, memory, a sound card in hot deadspot in a case, I wouldn't use one for gfx cooling.

ever heard of abient air temp

Nope :D

I had hoped that it would knock a few degrees off the GX2 as it runs hottest at the part nearest the PCI slots on the case, I have the spot cool blowing over that. I think the main problem is my case, while its a great case I think it has pretty poor airflow.

I got one to cool down the ram, worked well. Also helped cool the motherboard as well.
