Hey,
I have just bought this product, plugged it into my fan controller, and started the pc with the case open. This fan pushes a lot more air than any of my case fans! I put them all on high, and seriously, it's great.

The only problem I have is positioning it, and my fan layout.
I have the CM690, with a micro ATX motherboard ( MSI X58M ). On this board the northbridge gets rediculously ( really rediclously ) hot, nearing 100 degrees celc sometimes. I have the Corsair H-50 cpu cooler, which means my back fan which is normally an exhaust, has to blow into the case. I have two fans on the top ( blowing out ), a case fan ( now blowing in ), and a front fan ( blowing in ).
My problem is that I don't think the air flow is going to be great, and with how huge my graphics card is and where the northbridge is, it's hard to aim at the northbridge with the spotfan.

What would you recommend for the air flow in this case? I was wanting it quiet, and all that really needs cooling is the graphics card and northbridge, as the CPU is done with the H-50. I have too many low quality fans, and am thinking about re-doing the whole thing. I have 4 case fans, which make a racket, one of them which only has a molex connection so can not be controlled ( 100% noise always ). I'm sure with having the h-50 I don't need this many fans, but I need to make sure the NB is cooled. It has at the moment a case fan which was blowing in, blowing in near it, then the spot cool fan aiming that air onto it from the right. The problem is that if it blows too much, it's only going to blow it into the H-50 radiator. I can't get the thing at the other sides of it because the H50 gets in the way, I can't get under is because the northbridge almost touches the graphics card. All I can do is blow into it and hope it does the trick. I really wish I hadn't got the micro board.

Please can someone help me out with suggestions? My cable management is also pretty bad, i'll take some photos,.. but i've done the best I can getting wires around the back, only my Corsair TX650 isn't modular, and it's a bit of a nightmare ( good PSU though ).
I think before I built the PC, and next time I build another, i'll give cable management more thought and get a bigger motherboard, allowing better air flow.

I have to wonder why your NB is running so hot. Maybe a replacement HS and even possibly a HSF for it. Having a fan blowing air close to NB will not be as effective as a direct fan in it. The 100% fan can be reduced by adding a resistor on the line if you are handy with a soldering iron, or do the 7v trick with the wiring.

Quiet fans tend to be slower and move less air. Price of a quality fan with low sound and tone will cost you dearly.

The temp of it seems to have reduced to around 70 under load which is a lot better since putting the fan in. The air flow in that area before was next to none but I don't see why it was getting SO hot before.
Thanks for your advice Tealc, i'm going to look up the "7v trick".
Thanks for the link eclectic, that looks good but it might be a bit of a hastle attaching it to the NB.
It's a lot cooler now, and i've googled it a few times and found it's a very common problem with the MSI X58m,.. it gets ridiculously hot.
