At £33.49, it looks such a great case - but why the low price?

I am aware there is a plastic door on the front, but 2*120mm fans, alloy body, no shortage of drive bays, and a window, all make it seem irresistable.....

Why should I pay more than twice that for a PC-7, when I could save the cash, and buy this?

So - concise, and clear pros and cons please. I'd especially like to hear from current owners....

Case is excellent value, the only places it loses out to the PC7 are build quality and looks IMO(I have both), if you don't want to spend a lot on a case this is about the best you can get.

Cooling is pretty good and it sould handle anything you care to use, I have a Pentium D with a 1ghz OC in mine and it is silent.

Remember quite a few retaillers have the exact same case for £69 and £58 so your really getting a bargain, for the money it is unbeatable against anything now, or ever has been for £35.

Only case that offers the same level of value for money is the PC7+II, and that costs more.

If you can live with the looks why have you not ordered one already? :p

Looks, and slightly on the small side are the major drawbacks to the Lanboy, but at the money it is really easy to concentrate on the good points.

For the money, It's an excellent case and when i had it last year, It is the only case that i was able to hide all of my cables so well, it all looked wireless, I made a thread about it but that seems to have dissapeared now, Well threads over a year old anyway:)

I've always like the case, for the price and it's looks, one of the cheapest side windowed case- great for show offs... till I read this

That kinda put me off.
However, if I ever need a case for a low price, I'd still get this.

How does this compare in size to the Antec Sonata?
I've had my eye on this for a while as the Sonata has the intake fan on the wrong side of the hard drives, which makes the intake fan pretty useless.

Raikiri, what GFX card do you have in there?
I'm trying to get an idea of how deep the case is?
Wondering if it will fit the X1900Xt-X which is quite a long card.
Cheers
Dan

My response to that:

Super Lanboy is extremely popular, ONLY thread on any forum I have ever seen about it, 1 person out of a million is not an issue that should discourage anyone from anything. He is also talking about atniquated hardware. Yes he may have an issue but several things you have to consider; the case may be fault; his motherboard may be faulty.

If it was a serious issue, everyone would be up in arms about it, the fact the case is a couple of years old and one person has had that problem really does not register with me, also unless someone on another forum adds creditable information on top of that read it as a pinch of salt, people like to read things and then replicate them, same with reviews being made like mindless robots.

Just defending the Lanboy there, one person having issue is nothing, and he could easily sort it in a few seconds if he was bothered about it.

It is a bit smaller than the sonata 2 height and length wise but similar in width.

x800gto in there with a vf700 @ 5v, due to the way the hard drives are mounted (sideways) theres plenty of space left. As long as the card doesnt overhang the motherboard by more than an inch it should be fine.

ive got 1 of theses cases and im well happy with it

the only tip i can give you is, if your using a mother board with IDE slot facing out out the board make sure you put the IDE cable in and bend it back, as wehn you come to put the cable in youu find you cant do it as there is no space to push it in lol.

apart from that its a great case and for the money its hard to beat.
also the case cooling is good to :)

I see your point... I just thought I'd bring that up just for a "Pro" and "Con" view.

I don't think it's reasonsable to dismiss that issue a 'nothing'. If you have an MSI motherboard, it's a big issue. If you don't it's not a problem. What IS a problem is the direct threading of the rear panel screws into the metal of the chassis. It is all too easy to strip the treads on these and then the case will not close or the fan will rattle about. That is a VERY common issue with that case. If you take the cover off a lot, then it may be an issue after a few dozen cycles. If not, not it's no problem.

Oh it is something, but it is not a huge huge show stopping issue for everyone.

Same with the V series of cases and heatpipes, you just select the right components so they all work together well.

Rather tempted to get one of these come payday.
Poor PC's been suffering some cheap heavy ugly case for a while now, and this one looks pretty promising.
Light case would certainly be extremely handy for me :D

Its small, but does make you look slightly childish as it is a gaming case, although probably one of the best ones. :p

And again it is small, little fiddly to build in but probably would be a dream compared to some OEM monstrosity!

Anything but SLI is fair game in them really, at the price they are a very good buy for the money.

EDIT: nice to see someone from the mod team posting in here, you and Baddass both within 2 months! :p

Its not Vento ugly though! :p

Some people have to like the look of it anyhow, I quite like it being brutally honest for a gaming case it certainly is not a bad one.

Well I game a lot so I don't mind the image :D

Be a long while till I can afford an SLI set up so no worries there.

Tbh my main concern atm is whether I could be bothered to switch cases :o
