I've got a small media pc which i built for the Mrs about 18 months ago, housed inside an Antec 1300 case, and 2 days ago the odd shaped and unique mATX 300w PSU has packed up. Good news for us is Antec's 3 year warranty – so I've contacted them via email, and they replied via email as follows >

To enhance our warranty service Antec has made an arrangement with our valued distributor ENTA Technology that will allow us to get you a replacement within the UK. ENTA can only deal with resellers, however, so you will need to have your reseller contact them on your behalf. If your reseller has further questions for us please have them contact us through [email protected].

Note: You will not return the defective power supply to your reseller for replacement. You will actually send the defective power supply to ENTA after your reseller arranges the RMA on your behalf. Any reseller in your area should be able to help you with the replacement as long as they are willing to contact ENTA first.

Most etailers offer 1 year after sales support, and from there after it's down to the company concerned to take responsibility for organising and issue of RMA's under remaining warranty, not the etalier. Now whilst I don’t have a problem contacting the reseller, I very much dought they are going to entertain this, since it's beyond the initial 12 month period. Has anyone else here dealt with Antec support for RMA's etc?

I'd speak to the reseller and if they say "it's over a year" get onto Antec on the phone and make sure that you get to a real person.

Yup quite a lot! :)

ENTA Technology is the standard way to RMA an ANTEC PSU unless you want to fork out £22 quid odd to ship the unit back to Holland.

My last RMA was a 2.5 Year old PSU that originally came as part of a case, ANTEC told me the same thing so I forwarded the info to OcUK and they did the rest.

I had to pay about £7.00 odd to ship the PSU to OCUK and got back a brand new Antec Earthwatts 380 a few weeks later. . .

Well all sounds good, only problem I see is Antec no longer manufacture the A300 PSU, instead they rebadged the 1300 case as 1380 and stuck a new A350w PSU inside. I enquired about this within my email, albeit there was a very short & brief reply outside of the generic response quoted above, they ignored the question...

Sorry to bring up this old thread, but I would like to add my recent experience with Antec here. Better to keep it organised.

Some of you may remember my PSU failure a while back. I contacted Antec and they sent me the email same as in the OP. So I contacted the place I bought it from (wasn't OcUK at the time) and the lady kept on making excuses such as the being on 2 week vacation, saying she emailed them but got no response, etc, etc. Eventually I got sick and tired of all this (waited about a month), so decided to send the faulty PSU directly to Antec Office in the Netherlands. Postage by royal mail was £11 (inc. £36 compensation). 2 weeks later and I recieved my replacement. A brand new Antec EarthWatts 500W PSU fully boxed and unopened.

Considering I bought the PSU as part of a package with the case, I think they did well in that regard. But now I have a problem. I've got this brand new PSU, lying around the house doing absolutely nothing. I won't be able to use it as a spare though since it has a 4 pin CPU connector, and my motherboard has 8 pin.
