Im looking to get a pair of the blue LED ones for my build. Has anyone got opinions on them before I hit buy? Not looking for the very best in cooling but want them to do the job and look nice at the same time.

They'll be going in a Antec 300 so should be very similar to the pre installed ones I think?

Cheers

The LED fans will be clear plastic but apart from that are similar to the standard Tri-cools, in that they aren't particularly good, make a lot of noise and don't shift much air.

To me it seems crazy to throw £10 on a cheap fan like a Tri-cool, even if it is LED blinged.

Surely there must be a better option for a similar price. Maybe a Yate Loon or a Xigmatec?

Or add LEDs to a standard fan like in my signature.

I quite like the 3 speed control these have and the ones I am using now dont seem to make too much noise. If the led versions are almost identical to the standard tri cools I think they'll do nicely, even if I can get something slightly cheaper.

Dont want to be adding LEDs myself either, nice idea though :)

Thanks for reply!

I still use 2 Tri-cools in my rig but that's mainly because I'm too tight to buy replacements when they do an adequate job. I wouldn't buy more though, that's what I'm saying.

Looking over fan options for a blue LED fan, at least on ocuk you are very limited to choices.

The retail versions of the Tri-cool are different from the case mounted varities in that they apparently have 3 pin fan connectors and feature speed monitoring. The one on ocuk even says it's PWM.

Maybe the retails are better than the pre-fitted ones.
