Quick query regards the above PSU that I must say is absolutely fantastic as follows:

the psu has a 4 pin pwm cable for active fan control. I've not been using this but would I notice much difference in noise if I used it? I assume without it the psu is still rgeulating fan speed or the fan would be at 100 % (though it might well be I can't tell - its not that loud anyway).

Also, I only have 1 4 pin header, the cpu one, could I connect it to the mobo on a 3 pin header? Or use a splitter cable on the cpu header, which is best?

You sure it isn't a floppy drive power connector? My TPN 650W didn't have a fan control cable.

Regarding the PSU it was a perfect match for my rig and exceeded my expectations in every respect bar one. It made a loud high pitched whine while on standby. RMA'ed it. Replacement did exactly the same so I sent that back today. Also whined on my 2 year old rig whereas my old psu is silent on both so it must be the Antecs.

Didn't order from here so it could have been a faulty batch.

/edit and someone else has posted on the OcUK shop comments section saying he's had 2 whining ones too.

Can you take a photo off the connector, I just been looking at the manual on the Antec website and would be handy to for the future.

I have that power supply, and I have a 4 pin cable spare. It's not a small one like a fan cable, its like the 8 pin in looks, except 4 pin :p

Not sure what its for, but I don't seem to need it.

Crazy price currently on the Antec TruePower 650W - £94.99!

I'm sure this was around the £70 mark only a couple of weeks ago!

Yeah I know...supply and demand. But cracking PSU.

edit.

It gets worse....£59.98 elsewhere!

Right, my bad, just been on my hands and knees (;)) and I cannot see a pwm connector. I must ahve completely dreamt it. My apologies. I can only say its been a long day in work as an excuse...............

Just looked through my cable pack and whats currently attached to mine, can inly find a 4pin floppy connector.

Great psu, and so much better than any equivalent psu OCZ has:D
