Hey up,

just a quick check to see if anybody from these here wonder forums are going to the anthrax gig tonight at the astoria?

i'm going on my lonesome cause i have no friends......... available to go ;)

should be good!

One of the greatest bands ever.
If you haven't got it, buy the recent Alive 2 DVD release and listen to Dan Spitz talk about watches all through it.

welll i went there, and it was awesome! i cannot really bend my neck anymore its completely stiff from all the headbanging!

Caught one of Spitz's plectrums as he threw it out. i think the highlight of the gig has to be Bello on bass, ive never seen somebody look as though they're enjoying it as much as he looked!

i'm gonna say something now that i may regret ;)

i preferred the 2nd support (Beyond Fear) as they're more my style of music, and i got given a Tshirt by Tim Ripper Owens!
i was right at the front for all 3 bands, didnt move from my spot! and Beyond Fear were shooting a live DVD so hopefully i'll be on it :D

kickass!

What a voice but what a nonentity on stage.
Did he move with this band?

I'm so jealous you saw Anthrax.
I saw them twice in the 80's on the Amongst The Living and Pesistence Of Time tours.
Bloody awesome.

I'm jealous as I turned up to the Wolverhampton gig on Sunday night and it was sold out :( (I was stupid not to book a ticket really.) There were no touts about either, they only seem to be about when you don't need them. I've seen them a fair few times in the last few years and they've always been great live so I hope this isn't the last time they tour with the original line-up (I think John Bush and Rob Caggiano may be re-joining the band eventually.)

yuh, he moved around quite a bit but that could be because they were recording a live DVD last night and it woulda been a tad crap if he hadnt moved around much.

dmpoole jealous of me.... let me savour this moment for a while!

its usually me thats grumbling to myself that you've got to do so much even before ive been born (which is when i wish i was around!!)

if you ever see the beyond fear DVD from that show, i'm the guy standing to the right of a really bored looking "old" guy in a leather jacket!
i was happily stood there at the barrier waiting for them to come on, and he barged his way in so that i had about 30cm to squeeze into... and then throughout their entire set looked like he could die!

as soon as thrax came on, he went ballistic! as if somebody stuck 500volts up his backside! not surprised though hehe.

spitz and bello really dont look old enough to be in anthrax! especially spitz, he didnt look a day over 30!

1 - On The Live In London Judas Priest DVD he doesn't move but he's got an amazing voice. I think most people know how he got the job and how George Clooney made a film out of it.

2 - Theres always a first.

3 - careful

4 - And whats great is that I think I'm taller than Spitz.

Sorry bout this but Mr Poole when and where is your next gig in stoke?

We've just had to cancel one month of gigs because of our pussy lead guitarist having keyhole surgery in his knee. One week on and the git is telling me he would be OK to gig now
Anyway, May 6th Butchers Arms Forsbrook with our new 21 year old drummer who is bloody awesome.

I looked under George Clooney and couldn't find it but this is the film and I'll be surprised if you haven't seen it :
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0202470/

George Clooney is a big Judas Priest fan and he was impressed that Priest searched high and low for a new singer but couldn't find one so instead decided to look at Judas Priest tribute bands to get a new singer. He then provided the money to turn the story into a film (I thought he produced it).

i'll rent it out if i can find it, otherwise i'll just buy it heh.

Just be wary that the film was started because of Judas Priest/Ripper Owens but by time they finished it, it became something else.
