Anti spyware program

I use Windows Defender, Ad-aware 2007 and Spybot S&D.

I have been using the new version of Spybot for about a month now and notice it now runs 24/7 which uses a fair amount of resources.

TeaTimer.exe which is part of Spybot is currently using 36MB memory usage, which if far more than my Antivirus and Firewall put together...

I don't know if it is possible to disable this TeaTimer.exe or not.

Spybot S&D
Spywareblaster
AVG Anti-Spyware
etc...:)

I just uninstalled Spybot and tried AVG Anti-Spyware and I am VERY impressed. It is light on resources, and detects something like over 900,000 spyware

Anyway, I did a completely scan, including my external hard-drive and it has found a key logger called Logger.Alexa.A :eek::mad:

It is in a file located in my brothers folder on my external HDD.
Would a keylogger be able to work if it's on my external HDD? Would it be able to log what I have been typing on my PC when the external HDD is connected?
It is an .exe file, so maybe it needs to be executed before it works.

AVG Spyware used to be Ewido, a product I used to rate highly, no so much now that Grisoft control it. Another alternative is a-squared from Emisoft that offers a free version as well as piad, I have found it very good at keeping my Windows box free of the nasties.
