Anti Static Wrist Strap

Should I wear one when changing my heatsink and fan ?
I have changed my GPU, CPU and RAM before without one and was fine. What I did was make sure i didn't generate any friction by walking around and also grounding myself my periodically touching my electric radiator

Fair enough.
I'll take socks off, work on a non carpet surface and periodically touch the toaster or kettle
