Does anyone know where i could buy some replacements for the little rubber pads that go between the heatsink and the fans? I'm going to be transplanting everything into a new case and the ones on the Silver Arrow cooler have lost their stickiness.

In all honesty i doubt you will need them. Ive used a varriety of high end air coolers in recent years and the clips have been plenty to hold the fans tight enough to prevent vibrations.

I suppose i can give it a try, the fans on it never really ramp up much.

Edit - i should have thought of it earlier, just tested and Pritt Stick does the job :)

LOL, was just going to suggest that. :D

Like setter said, they usually make little to no difference. I have 3 Thermalright coolers in use and none have the pads installed. ;)

Which Silver Arrow do you have, original, SB-E or IB-E?

Not sure which one it is, it'll be the original or sb-e though as i've had it for years.

I'll try it without them just before i swap over to the new case just to see how it fares. Any kind of noise from the pc other than a quiet hum does my head in hence the fretting :p

Original Silver Arrow has 4x 8mm pipes. SB-E and IB-E 8x 6mm pipes. IB-E has offset base for better PCIe clearance.

If fans are out of balance the pads may help. The stock TY-140, TY-141/150 are quite good. I've modified some for Define front intake fans. With a bottom intake and 2x front intakes speed controlled by motherboard / GPU to supply air as needed works very well. The newer TY-147A fan is 300-1300rpm compared to older models being 550-1300rpm. I know, the specs say 800-1300, but the run 550-1300rpm ;)

I bought some anti vibration washers from a store of a high street electronics chain (rhymes with happenin')

The case didn't show up until last night so only got around to transplanting everything this morning. Installed the fans on the cooler without the pads first to try and it's as quiet as it ever was with them. So thanks for the tip, that's now one less fiddly thing to mess around with in future :)
