Anti Virus for Windows Server 2019 Essentials

Hi guys

Got a wee server at work that I manage.

Windows Server 2019 Essentials.

Running few services, DHCP, WDS and file storage server. Nothing else, just very simple set up.

But no anti virus software installed! So recommend anti virus please? Basic file server or full security package?

What's up with windows defender? Does 2019 not come with defender built in?

It should have it by default. I'd just use Defender.

Very strange..it does have defender! But it's hidden away, can't scan anything if I right click on a folder. No option.

No defender icon in taskbar too. Is that normal? Thanks

It's automatic.

Is there no right click > scan with defender

.... when you click it on a file or folder?

Correct, no option to scan a file or folder. Strange!
