What anti-virus do you use if any (mods maybe this could be a poll )

I have found many anti-virus still let virus on your pc and they are often annoying ,some interrupting a game to let you know it is updating
I have read in one gaming mag that you don't always need them so I'm considering just scanning my pc often using Malwarebytes (free version) and spybot without using anti-virus software is this a bad idea ?
