Avira for free AV and www.malwarebytes.org for spyware, or www.superantispyware.com is good for spyware too

I find Avira extremely annoying.
Very good at finding virus's a but a total PITA to tell it to get rid of them. Many times i've just had it constantly popping up with a virus warning but does eff all about it.
I personally prefer avast, even tho it suffers from the same problem. but to a less extent. AVG is better in that regard but is generally too slow.
But malwarebytes is excellent. i like spybot and superantispyware too.
