Hi all,

I've just built my new computer that I picked up from OCuk, and need to grab some protective software.

I was thinking about getting Kaspersky as I had some good experience with them once upon a time.

What do you guys think?

I'm running Windows 7 Pro

If you have Windows 7 / Vista the built in firewalls are fine if you're behind a router. The free version of Windows 7 Firewall Control gives you a nice alert/block notification screen for it (awful site by the way :p).

We use the software firewall of Server 2008 (basically the same) which is directly connected to the internet and it hasn't been hacked, yet :p.

Kaspersk is a decent Av if your looking to spend some money on one. Another AV I like is ESET/NOD which is a similar sort of price.

As Pho said, your router firewall should be fine along with the build in Windows firewall... Stay off dodgy sites and you will be fine ;)
