hi

ive noticed when i go into my review security page on windows 7 that under spyware and unwanted software protection it states that windows defender and nod 32 are running and report no problems.

and then with a note saying running 2 or more antispyware programs can cause your pc to run slow.

is it ok 2 have both on ?

is windows defender a antivirus program

cheers

ok looking around it seems defender is more spyware so i will keep it on ,ive only got the nod 32 antivirus so that should work ok with defender?

ive noticed that i seem to get a lot of adverts on webpages even know ive got pop up blocker in internet explorer set to medium?

anyhelp on this:)

I have Nod32 and like bledd. said I have Win Defender to scan every other day (I think). With Nod's real-time protection scanning there's no need for Win Defender to also be doing the same thing.

nod32 checks for spyware too

just disable the real-time scanning in defender, or it'll slow your pc down with nod32 running too

as for adverts

Install firefox..

www.getfirefox.com
then once firefox is installed, click here in firefox..

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865

install that addon

When firefox restarts

Pick the 'easylist' subscription, this is a list that gets updated pretty often to stay on top of new ads etc

thanks

how do i turn windows defender real time scanning off?

is definatly safe to turn off?

has nod32 antivirus got spyware protection as i only have antivirus ,not the suite

? i thought it was one of the best and still one of the best on the market?

as soon as i changed to nod 32 some time back bad things started happening,it was not picking up malware that i had, also i was portscanned while using it and needed to reformat etc,i also lost my steam account but got it back while using it....i went back to bitdefender and it found a lot of things that nod32 failed to find ,it also tells me when portscans are being blocked which is very rare now...its up to you but i dont rate nod32 whatsoever...i had bad experiences when i used it which i never had with bitdefender before it

Just some of the malware NOD32 happily let through (on maximum settings) in my VM test this week:
