Hi guys read the sticky and couldent seem too find anything on antivirus software , whats a good free virus scanner for the mac been running my install without any protection and just wanna make sure my system is clean

Don't need one. I've been using Macs since I was 17 so eight years, at college, at four different places of work and at home, and I've never used any antivirus in any location, I've worked in two retail stores selling macs, one very busy, and never even met anyone who's met anyone who's ever had a virus.

Meh, I don't forward mails with attachments. In fact, I don't even open mails with attachments if I'm not expecting any. I can't even remember the last time I had an email at home with an attachment.

ive seen 1 mac virus, 1, it played around with the settings of the guys macbook, luckily he had nothing on his mac so we just told him to wipe it, so it was clean

your lucky to get a virus on the macs basically, so i wouldnt bother with any antivirus :)

The releases of viruses etc. for macs are so far apart and people dont seem to bother with creating them, but they are around.

Would i use some security? Nope because apple are fast with fixing security holes, probably faster than the update to your antivirus :p

Not had a virus on any mac in the past 5 years. Had to fix a virus problem on my girlfriends laptop last week though, nightmare after avoiding Windows for so long.
