Antworks

IIRC correctly there was an age-old post on the forums very simliar to this... the user replaced the ants with more agressive ones and the new ants ate the blue stuff for his entertainment...
yeah the more aggressive ones were the specials that you send away for. After reading that thread, I didnt bother with garden ones for that reason. They';re still doing bugger all though.

Biggest problem I had was getting the ants off the paper into the antworks. The trick was to refridgerate them for a bit but after I'd tried that and failed I ended up putting them in the freezer for *2 minutes*.

Two days later when I remembered them, they were a bit dead :(

K.
Mine are all hiding in the paper. That's why I tried the prodding technique this monring which went wrong.
What am I supposed to do? Stick the whole thing in the fridge, wait for the to chill, then brush them off and take the paper out?

edit - murderer!

Lets play spot the ant...

They're supposed to really like it. They can eat it.

I want to see some ants
Yeah, me too.

BREAKING NEWS. WE HAVE A DIGGER! :D
ONLY ONE MIND. BUT HE MIGHT GO TELL HIS MATES THAT HE'S FOUND A WICKED HOLE...

Finally some tunnels.

Each tunnel has a secondary entrance/exit. Strange how they's all dug up at almost the same angle, and in the same direction.

They seem to really be going for it now. I'm guessing it will be totally different when I get home from work tonight...

Can you add more ants to it?

There are about 30 ants in there. Most of them are all huddled up together on a piece of paper they came in. I need to try and get them off (without them all escaping this time).

You can't add more ants, as they'll just has all out war and kill each other.

Mind you, that could be interesting...

I don't get why you dont just pick the paper up (or envelopey thing?, what exactly do they come in?), turn it upside down and flick it untill they all drop off?.

they're quick little buggers and cling on like super glue!

they come in a little plastic pot which as a roll of this blue paper in it. They all cling to the paper in groups and won't let go. they're protecting the eggs.

Will they breed and have babys then :D

Ant Porn

they will have babies as there are eggs.

It will be cool porn as /david attenborough mode all ants are female. Males are only produced once a year, when they fly and mate during flight with winged females. The males die shortly after mating. /david attenborough mode
