Any 2142 players on vista?

Installed Vista for first time :confused:

and been having a few problesm with 2142. Fist of all...I cant get the mic to work at all with the game and then I am having randon lock-ups and shudowns...and laggy/jumpy performance...shock ehh!
Anyway...I swiched back to XP...on the same match..smae server...and its ruinning sweet. Any other players having the same issues...Im using 8800GTX with 162.22 drivers.

my bro swears by vista with his x1900 xtx and 2142

Went back to XP and its been perfect. I posted on here a month or two about it. Suggestions were to run as Administrator, but didnt work.

Have you tried this Vista pre-release pack, which is meant to help vista? Theres a thread in the windows section on it.

Im dual booting with XP and Vista, but hardly use Vista.

fine here too, the patches actually worked better with vista. xp would be a nightmare, uninstalling, reinstalling......

have only one account...so I am the administrator I think. Aint tried the pre-release pack..will have a look at it though...allthough I hate installing loads stuf to make things better

Same here, one of the reasons I went back to XP. I keep on getting a error with BF2142 saying that the program stopped responding.

You still have to select admin mode even if your account is. However it isn't needed anymore.

Turn off UAC.

Disable visual themes from the shortcut can help in some cases.

Select to run in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP2 can help as well.

Make sure PnkBstrA.exe is running under task manager.

This, http://www.evenbalance.com/downloads/pbsvc/pbsvc.exe will install the services needed to run the game. Select to remove them, then install them again.

yep..getting that also. Then the game hangs for a bit and just about locks up the entire PC!

Make sure PnkBstrA.exe is running under task manager.

Ive had a few serevr kicks from this...saying PunkbusterA. If its not running...how do I make it work???

Use this, http://www.evenbalance.com/downloads/pbsvc/pbsvc.exe to install the services.

Then go to services in Windows and start it manually if it's not started already.

Administrative tools - services - find PnkBstrA in the lst and start it.

Thanks for that. Checked services and both PnkBstrA and B are running on automatic. Weiord. So just installed again and hopefully it will be beter now.

Vista 64 ultimate. And it runs fine, besides 1 little problem.
I can never join the first server I try. Click on it agin and its fine.

Everyone at BFB seems to get that, it's quite annoying

. For me it's under XP and Vista x64.

only prob i have is titan mode crashes at the end of the round am using home prem 32bit but due to order vista 64 see if that makes any difference

I have that problem too with your BFB servers. "connection failed" or something like that

occasionally....but not often when just in the server. Matches and 50K sessions only yes. I havent tried that in Vista yet eigther. I seem to be getting far beter performance in XP so mainly still been using that.
