any 56k modem/registry experts?

I have a problem with a 56k modem that I just cannot seem to find a solution too.

Whenever it dials, it pops up a blue status bar with a window that is there to show the dialling status. However, this connection is not initiated through Network Connections, so I can't hide the status that way.

Just wondering if there is a registry setting to completely disable all modem status windows from popping up when a connection dial is being initiated.

Have edited the tsp wrapper (unimdm.tsp) to remove any reference to call status and rebooted, but that's had no effect.

There's a program called AutoRasDial that creates a service to establish and maintain a dialup connection, I don't recall that ever showing any status.
