Today, I parked on a wide pavement in town, of which everyone does. I popped into the bank and when I came out a traffic warden had slapped a £70 ticket on my windscreen. Now, it had double yellow and some yellow markings on the top of the kirb and it did have a sign saying no loading/unloading.

Ok, I prob shouldn't have parked there.

Now, here comes the fun bit!

Traffic warden was all cocky and so I went to take a pic of her but she kept spinning around stopping me from taking a pic of which I eventually did so.

Now, a guy came over and gets very abusive with me calling me a few certain names for trying to stick my mobile phone into the wardens face (it was not that close!). Anyway, he kept on having a go at me so I went nose to nose with him and put my fist under his jaw to warn him off.

It was then that he said he was an off duty copa and produced a card. He quickly put it back into his pocket. I asked to see it again and he refused.

He said let's wait for the police to come as the warden had called them.

I didn't wait as I had my daughter to pick up from school.

I rang the police and they said it had been reported and I will get a visit.

What can I expect. Can they charge me with anything. I didn't hit anyone.

Thanks (Waits for all the laughs!)

They may try and caution you for threatening behaviour towards the off duty copper, but if he came over shouting the odds he's just as bad so don't accept any sort of caution. I can't see them trying to charge you for it as he'd have to get a spanking too.
Next time watch who you threaten ;)

surely the "copper" should get done for verbal abuse? Either way I doubt anything serious comes of this probably just a warning

Can be seen as threating behaviour / and public disorder

Expect the traffic warden to take a photo of your car, post it on a forum and threaten to key it if she ever sees it in town again.

That bit could be classed as assault.

Probably just a telling off and a "don't be so silly again". And if someone tried to stick a camera in my face I would get very annoyed.

You know yourself that you were in the wrong with the parking, take whatever comes on the chin.

On a slightly related note I've been in a full on bar brawl with a load of off duty cops and nothing came of it because they were a right bunch of boobies who thought they could start something and then pull the "we're off duty police!" line.

I expect that they'll come for you this evening, stick you in the back of a van, give you an intimate search back at the station before locking you up for the night in the cells. In the morning you'll get a cup of tea, a caution and a bus fare home. :p
