any active magazine readers here?

used to buy around 2 magazines a week.

then i was walking around a market nearby and i noticed back issues of most of the magazines, in a used book stall for £1 each, but they are 2 months old.
so i get them there now ;)

Well, just subscribed to Games TM @ £1 for 3 issues! Win! :)
(Will probably cancel afterwards but at least gives me a chance to read the material for a few months to give it a chance).

Does anyone know if you subscribe to the hardcopy of Games TM allows you access to the iPhone app equivalent for example?

E.g. I subscribe to The Economist and it allows me to view the online version via the app for free (including audio version).

Two Magazines a month at a total cost of about £9, the titles in question being Air International and Air Forces Monthly. When finished with them I give them to my mum, who works in a local hospital and leaves them in the waiting room attached to her office. Being the ultrasound department, she finds they go down well with the blokes while they wait for the partner they've knocked up etc. I suppose anything that takes their mind off the fact that they're screwed, even momentarily, is most welcome....

PC Pro and .Net because we advertise in them :p

I love to read The Economist when I have the time as well. Can just read that cover to cover.

I subscribe to three mags.

Motorcycle News - There are no decent bike sites on the net that I can find on par with MSC

Retro Gamer - Well it's retro, so can't use the argument of your reading news that was the next 2 weeks ago :). I always find it an interesting read, and as above I haven't found a retro site with the same quality as EG.

Linux Format - Just enjoy it.

For all my other interests the Internet provides more than enough content.

Only sub I have is 2600 magazine, and that's because it's unavailable in the UK.

I've recently been getting into Linux through Uni, Linux Magazine has had some very relevant articles for my course- debating a sub for that.

I'll pick up a magazine if it has a something that's relevant to what I'm interested in - I usually get Custom PC when I'm planning an upgrade as it has everything all in one place with useful recommendations. Same with Games TM and Edge - if there's an article I'd like to read, or a few reviews, I'll pick it up.

I was a PC Zone subscriber for years - have shelves full of them now. Since they folded, my sub was automatically moved to PC Gamer. I'm a few issues in and still giving it a chance. I might cancel at the end of this cycle though, tbh.

It'll be a sad realisation once I do, as it'll be the final nail in the coffin when it comes to print, for me. :(

In terms of magazines, anyway. I do still buy comics and TPBs, etc.

Used to read PC Zone.

Still read Four Four Two, about it. Used to get a lot of trains so I'd always hold back buying FFT until the train journey. Also read Private Eye, should probably subscribe to this!

I get the beano for my brother whenever I see it, about it really.

Will get a mixture of The Viz, Four Four Two, Private Eye, World Soccer, Total Film, Mojo and Empire. Unlikely to get more than two a month and just buy what I fancy at the time.

I used to have a job that involved a lot of sitting around doing nowt, so I purchased most of the crop of PC magazines to pass the time, and it does get expensive very quickly. I haven't been a regular buyer for five or six years though, but have bought a couple of issues of Custom PC recently, which weren't all that great.

The only mag I buy regularly now is Autosport, but only during the F1 season. I would half consider subscribing to Motorsport too, as it does feature some good articles.

I used to read lots of PC and mountain biking magazines but decided it was getting a bit ridiculous so stopped, I might still buy a magazine if I'm travelling abroad but otherwise I've got no real call to. I did keep the collection for years in case I wanted to refer to old articles but even that was of limited appeal, especially as I was storing them at my parents which wasn't totally fair on them, so everything went to recycling.

//edit although I do get the CIMA magazine regularly now as part of my subscription - doesn't often get read at the moment.

The only one I buy regularly is BBC's Focus magazine, occasionally I'll buy Custom PC if there's an article of interest to me in it. I don't subscribe to any magazine and usually put them in the blue bin for recycling when the next months edition is released.
