Any advice for Philips Hue for PC gaming?

As title, I'm looking at some of this kit and think it's pretty impressive, if not a huge gimmick..

Am I right in thinking I need the Lights, and the bridge. Then on the PC get a Hue App to sync it with what's displayed on my screen?

Am I right in thinking it's limited and can't be used with Netflix in this manor?

Any advice or thoughts from people that have or have used it would be great!

My pc is up to my TV for gaming only really

Yeah I can see the sync feature being a bit of a gimmick but also wouldn't mind getting a few static bulbs and use it static for normal TV use. I can see it can become a bit of a rabbit hole though
