My driving instructor is picking me up in 45 minutes. Got my test @ 1:03.

Anyone care to give some good advice. Nerves are killing my chest :(

Cheers

Think of all the monkeys on the road, if they can pass the test then so can you.

Helped me at the time as it made it seem less daunting. :p

Don't kill or maim pedestrians.

Eating a good meal around now should set you up nicely. Even if you are nervous and can't eat, make sure you have something in your stomach as doing it on an empty stomach can reduce your performance. Drink plenty of water as well, it all helps.

Don't put yourself under too much pressure, what's the worse case scenario? You fail and have to do it gain, not the end of the world. You won't need to worry about that if you stay calm and collected though

Ádh mór ort!

your instructor wouldn't put ya forward if they thought you would fail. Deep breath, positive thoughts and stay calm. All will be fine. Good luck :)

I don't have the money to take the test again :(
Cheers guys. Spose I should get some toast.

OH BTW I have said this to everyone I know, but,

"If I fail..... it's all your fault."

Confidence is a key factor (as with many things in life) If you don't feel confident, act like you are. This can only help in making you feel more confident... er, if that makes sense.

Anyway, good luck.

Oi! Quit being so negative, with that attitude you'll condemn yourself to fail.

It'll be grand.

position the rear mirror SLIGHTLY out of view, so you have to move a little to see it properly... its good to do that because it makes it clear you are checking the mirror, because you have to do more than just move your eyes to see it.

worked for me ;)

keep moving your head to all the mirrors even if you dont actually look into them, it makes the examer think you are constantly checking them. take your time on the maneuvers and dont pull out on anyone causing them to break and always indicate apart from that only the idiots on the roads can harm your chances of passing. Good luck :)

 :(

Lorry in front with hazard lights on. Hashed bay lines to the right of it. What do I do? Well cause I didn't have a clue as I had been told not to overtake on hashed (don't get confused with dashed lines) I stay behind the lorry and wait.

Failed. Just that... that's it..... nothing else.

Really gutted for you Tob3z. I failed my first time and it is really annoying. Ah you'll do it next time you know what to expect.

Know how you feel mate!

I took the driving instructor test a few years back and failed, i cannot describe how i felt!

And i thought i did everything, which is worse than doing something you know was wrong!

Cheers :)

cheers. I'm not to fussed about it. Fair enough I was in the wrong and it's a question that might not come up with your instructor. So all I can do is take it on the chin and book another one.

My instructor said I might of got hints to overtake if the test guy didn't have his boss in with me. lol

That is out of order!

Could you have asked him to sit out?

Cheers :)

No I doubt. The test dude will always ask for your permission before does anything (open a window etc) and he didn't ask if his boss could sit in. I didn't really have a problem with it... but like I said I might of had some hints thrown at me.
