Any advice on this spec please

Its my first build, been reading the forums for some weeks now and learnt a fair bit, only a few things i aint sure on but i made this spec, the things i miss from it are cpu cooler, case and monitor. If you have any advice or fixes i'd appreciate it, my budget is 2k, but im trying to keep it low as possible (i dont like spending money

Whatever it ends up, it'll sure be some improvement from my amd 3200 32bit,1gb ram,5700le, and all other unkown junk

I don't know too much about Conroe yet but all the parts look compatible, you will get a CPU cooler with the CPU as it is retail boxed. Do you already have a case and monitor? If not I might suggest the Akasa Eclipse as a case and maybe a good 24" monitor or similar.

I'd also think about a second hard drive as 250gb wouldn't last me more than a couple of weeks and rather than getting a DVD drive I would just get 2x DVDRWs as it barely costs any more.

Also, CPU comes with a HSF & pre-applied Thermal compound which is good these days. If not happy with it, get the AS5 & also something to clean of the original gunk, e.g. Isopropyl alcohol (IPA)

Cool thanks for the specs and advice. Yeah i do need everything, sound card too (not too fussy with sound cards). HSF i take means heatsink fan?

do you think i'd benefit on buying one or is the one supplied good enough.

I also see with the g skill ram, theres one for 147, and one for 149, is there much difference between the two? i see a couple of stats change, but ram is something i dont know anything about.
