Any algebra genii?

Solve for x, so move all the variables and numbers to the correct sides:
1)
10x - 6x = 3 + 17
4x = 20
x = 20/5
x = 5
etc.
If its positive on one side moving it across the equals makes it negative, if its multiply then its becomes divide and vice versa.

First one: rearrange to 4x - 20 = 0, so x = 5.
Second one: rearrange to 0 = 8x - 96, so x = 12.
Third one: rearrange to 0 = 9x - 108, so x = 12.
Fourth one: rearrange to 11x - 121 = 0, so x = 11.
Did them in my head. Easy peasy lemon squeazy.

10x-17(-6x)=6x+3(-6x)
10x-17=6x+3
4x(/4)=20 (/4)
4x-17(+17)=3(+17)
x=5

10x5=50-17=33
6x5=30+3=33

It might be a quick win to answer the questions and feel personal pride but you need to teach the guy how to fish not throw him a fish.
