Hi guys,

I'm on holiday at the moment and have seen an M14X with the following spec:

Case: Nebula Red
CPU: i7 3630QM 3.4
RAM: 16Gb
HDD: 1TB HDD + 64Gb SSD
GFX: 2Gb GT650M
14" HD LED screen (HD+ 900)
W8
DVD RW
Wireless N

Price: works out to about £1,200

Is this worth getting or could I get better for my money?

There are a few things I need to check with them, e.g which GFX card, which screen and what optical drive it has!

Thanks.

Tom

GFX would not be better then 650m I think in MX14.
For that amount if lucky you could get mx17 from outleet with 7970/680m/675m +HD screen +b-ray...but that only if you prepare to wait for the luck :)

I don't want to go any bigger than a 15" laptop as I want to retain some portability.

I know portability isn't much of a factor for a gaming machine however I don't particularly NEED one as powerful as this, I just want one.

I check the outlet fairly often in the hope there will be an M14 on there but I've had no luck yet.

Thats a crazy price! you could pick something similar from the outlet for about 750-800

That's dependent on finding one thougha and unfortunately I don't have time during the day to regularly check the outlet to take advantage of it :(

I managed to check the M14 today and it has the 650M GFX, the HD+ 900 screen but no blu ray drive.

Also I have just realised I didn't put any info on the ram, it has 16Gb!

Damien, I haven't been able to find the laptop you mentioned for sale so I am seriously considering getting this M14 R2.

Hi,

Sorry, I just updated my previous post to say it has 16Gb ram.

Out of interest what site did you spec that laptop? Ill have a look on it.

Thanks,

Tom.

Refurbished ASUS G53SX will set you back £799 :) Older tech however the GTX 560M still has some muscle.

I will be writing a review on the P150 this evening.

Tis a great and very reasonable option.

Its a shame OCUK stopped doing it with the 7970m otherwise I would have purchased from here.

Ditto. I asked them about it and they have no plans to offer it again at the moment, so looks like I'll have to shop elsewhere - which is a shame.

Edit: Ooh, 100th post. Only took me 8 years!
