after a new telly, needs to be smart with LED (can't stand plasma displays).

Tempted towards an LG with its IPS display as sometimes we sit at wierd angles in the room its for.

Prob 55" - Looking at the currys one for £1299 (670T is £1249 - not much in it).

unless theres any other makes in the same price bracket?

thanks.

I'm also looking at the LG TV's (55lm670t) but have been wondering if it is actually a good time to buy or not as there were a load of new models announced at CES last month.

Anyone?

Theres always something round the corner mate, I eventually gave up looking and went and bought the LM760T. Its only£50 more than the LM670T but has a higher hz rating (200 as opposed to the 100 on the 670T).

This years LG models will be google TV based - but from what I've read thats not going to give one much. The only thing that would have made me wait was either 4K or OLED sets - but I don't think we will see anything sensibly priced yet for at least another couple of years.

I visited a local store yesterday armed with a memory stick containing 1080p HD movies, I compared the LM760T directly to the only other viable alternative (samsungs are just too expensive to be viable!) - The PAnasonic DT50, and there was nothing in it at all. After more research though I found the following cons to the panny:

- Crap DLNA support via network (it was good via USB but not network)
- Worse response times (making gaming a problem)
- Bad vertical viewing angles due to the built-in filter on the screen.
- Requires expensive Active 3d Glasses - they don't even supply a single one with the tv!

As my TV was due to be mounted above the fireplace and used for xbox and streaming movies all the above con's made me decide on the LG 760T. I also love the fact the LG plays everything you throw at it via network, it has a very good 3D display, and really like the motion controller for the smart element of it !
Get it delivered on saturday.

Remember the 760T's are exclusive to a local high street store (competitor so not listed), whereas the 670T's are available everywhere.

hth ;)
