so I have 2 monitors on extended display setting via windows or "extend these displays"

As one monitor is a:

Alienware widescreen 3440x1440 @ 120hz 21:9 Aspect Ratio

and the other a:

ROG Swift 3840x2160 @144hz 4k 16:9 Aspect Ratio

So a choice of 2 from 2k to 4k and widescreen to the general 32inch 16:9

Some game i like on the widscreen and other games I like on tghe other

Issue is I have to switch of monitors, doesnt work all the time as it still recognizes the display so I then have to go into the settings and fug around switching primary displays.

It would be wonderful if I can control the monitors in a way where i can choose which monitor to choose when gaming, like widescreen for racing and standard 16:9 for my over the top RTS games.

Any suggestions?

Thanks OCUK community....

This should do the trick I think, and seems easier to do that the script method above.

The short of it:
  • Install Monitor profile switcher (MPS for short), and configure it to run on startup.
  • Configure, in windows, the optimal settings for "use case 1"
  • Save Use case 1 as a Profile 1 in the MPS
    • optional - Add hotkey or shortcut to Profile 1 in MPS
  • Configure, in windows, the optimal settings for "use case 2"
  • Save Use case 2 as a Profile 2 in the MPS
    • optional - Add hotkey or shortcut to Profile 2 in MPS

Rinse and repeat for the number of use cases you want to cater for.
