Any B&O H95 owners?

Just wondered if there are any owners on here? I’ve noticed the price has started to come down and is now tempting, presumably as they’ve released the new flagship model and may be replacing these ones soon.

My question is - is it really worth having these if you don’t listen to lossless audio frequently. I’d use Spotify and iPhone for most of my listening but my work laptop and Hi-Fi support lossless for occasional listening. I like all genres of music from classical to progressive trance to heavy metal - I truly have no preference so need something versatile.

I’m not interested in the Air Pods Max however good they are.

That’s helpful thanks.

I did own a pair of B&W over ear headphones years ago and they did the same thing. Are they any good for bass though and did you have the volume issues a lot of people seem to mention, that they don’t go loud enough?

I have the B&W PX8 and they are great. Bass a tad more elevated than id prefer but not much. They are the only over ears wireless I use. I also quite often listen using my Focal Utopia and Focal Stellia on the wired over ears side of things.

I love B&W as a brand and for Hi-Fi speakers but I was really put off after owning a pair of PXs years ago. I fell into the trap of ‘they sound awful but they need running in’ when I bought them and was just never that impressed with them as time went on. They’ve probably upped their game since then but it’s a shame as put me off.

Off to B&O today to demo the H95s will write how I get on in case anyone is interested.

So I ended up buying a pair brand new for £500.

To my ears the sound quality is excellent, even with Spotify and compressed audio over Bluetooth via the iPhone it’s a huge improvement on headphones I’ve had before. I’m sure the Sennheissers are great too but these hit the nail on the head for me. I don’t personally notice overwhelming treble and the bass is controlled. Can definitely hear more detail than on other headphones I’ve tried.

After a few days of use they’re working flawlessly with my phone and the app. Obviously no issues with wired connection either. No issues whatsoever. I do see what people mean about the volume but they’re loud enough for me and as someone worried about damaging their hearing it’s probably a blessing in disguise as I’d likely still max them out if they were louder.

Build quality is great although concerned about scratching them and the case easily. It’s a shame the case is so massive as takes up loads of room when packing light for work flights/trips. One problem I didn’t expect, they do feel quite heavy to me and get uncomfortable after about an hour of use. I can move the band around on my head but don’t get as good a seal around the ears. Not the end of the world but unexpected as reviewers generally praised them for being very comfortable.

Overall I’d say at the moment I’m happy with the purchase. I definitely wouldn’t pay more than £500 for them - the RRP is outrageous but I guess that’s just the “Bose” effect of people paying for the brand. I’d say if anyone had the opportunity to grab a pair brand new for £300-350 then that would be a fantastic deal.
