Right since the start of Battlefield 3 I had numerous disconnects where by the game would tell me my connection timed out. I put it down to the early problems the game had and all my friends had similar issues.

Fast forward till today. I update Battlefield 3 and get my mates by and we jump into the game. I still have the exact same issue where I get disconnected every 10-30 mins but they don't even though we are all using the same router at the same time!?

Any ideas?!?

Really? My mates who are using my router right now are not having the same problem so would that not point towards my computer or my network card being at fault?

I had this problem for a long time too, but, since the release of end game DLC, it has stopped, completely.

I read of lots of supposed solutions, but none ever worked for me.

Yeh this seems to be a bit of an unkown having had a google on it. I've changed a few thigns with my firewall for punkbuster and battlefield 3 and give that a try but it could be a bit of trial and error needed, or just play it on xbox.... ;)

Welcome to the awesomeness that is the Frostbite engine. BFBC2 and BF3 both suffer from this issue with multiple people on the same IP. BF3 is slightly better at dealing with it but there's no real way around it.

All I can hope for is BF4 is sorted or I sort my machine. I'm running PunkBuster 3.5 which is the latest version so it can't be that.

you can actually get round it and there is a fix for playing on same ip been that way for ages.

google ftw . was solved about ten years ago :p

It's not that issue i'm having. When I play on my own it kicks me so I thought it was my router but then my friends came round and I expected them to have the same problem but they didn't which is odd...

Try a program called Hamachi, very handy little thing for LANs too :) if anyone remembers battle net 1.0 for scbw it was a massive pain there too

Made by EA, solution?

Trash can.

Really though, try using some software like Hamachi or Tungle...no idea if that will help but used to use it for quite a few games that had connection problems on my lan, Terraria being one of them.

Don't be a douche, if it was solved ten years ago link him to the fix for christ sake..

There's no LAN mode on BF3 so using Hamachi won't be an option

Like you I was plagued with BF3 disconnects, plenty PB related.. If you haven't already reinstall/repair the game, manually uninstall and reinstall PB. I know you've said you manually updated but have you tried both the Security and Client files on this page?

Battlelog forums are a good place to ask as well, plenty of trolls around but there's some valuable info if you can work the shoddy search function.

Good luck
