any belkin modem/router combo users?

hi people,
im trying to install this belkin wireless g modem/router.....

im having no luck at all connecting to the internet, i finally got the connection to the router established (had to change the router logon ip as it conflicted with some backup software..weird!) and i can get the router setup page up. in the top right of the page it says no internet connection yet the line stats below show it as connected (2mb line)
also the green internet led on the modem is blinking.
the only thing i can think is that the username/password is somehow wrong and whilst the pc can connect to the router it cant get onto the net due to this..does that sound correct?
ive never had any bother setting up other modems/routers (all netgear btw) just this belkin thing lol!

Yeah, sounds like something is wrong with your user name or password/ you might also need to specify the DNS manually. Things like the VCI and VPI as well.

There are normally the casuse of most problems.

i have a strong feeling its the username and password, i hate to say it but the people im doing this for arent really clued in and have spent over an hour on the phone to bt!! they have no log on information, old modem settings or anything anywhere..a task and a half
