Would i see any benefit from selling my nvidia 295. ive been offered 200 pound for it. and going for 2 other cards , like the 5770 which is just over 200 for them. What would be best i can get for say 250 pound for sli?

or shall i keep the 295.

I wouldn't sell that card and replace it with two 5770's, would be a downgrade. If you were to sell your nvidia card then I think £200 is a fair price, certainly a lot more than I'd get for my X2. I'd be inclined to hang on for the Cayman / Antilles cards which, as I'm sure you know, are due out very soon. :)

Well, affordable they might be but I would say the 450 sli would be slightly behind the 5770 xfire. An upgrade in power...no, but if you're after a cooler and quieter 'stop-gap' then it would hopefully suffice. Personally (if you can stretch to it) I'd look at two 1gb 460's - these are better designed for higher res gaming.

Maybe the 6950 would suit your needs and wallet? :)

Of course hacking won't be welcome or make him popular but...I'm sure he's had enough heckling already. The more important thing is that we try to keep to the main objective which is to answer his questions. :)

i sold my 295 and bought a 5850, it was a downgrade but i get higher minimum framerates and some games run a lot better :)

its a lot quieter too but i suppose it depends on the rez that you game at
i play my games at 1680-1050 so its fine for me

Yeah... gtx 460 sli sounds like a good shout coming from the 295. You could however, sell your card, or even wait until the new ati 69** series come out and have a look at some solid reviews. Thats my personal opinion.

I say take the money whilst its on the table.

Becuase if you wait, your buyer will alos see that his £200 could be best spent elsewhere as well!!

Take the money, laugh, and buy a dx11 capable gpu.
