Got myself a new Bergaus coat today: RRP- £235
but got it in the sales at £120.
the point of this thread is i feel a bit guilty paying so much for a coat
and was wondering if you think its any good.

Got this one but in dark blue: http://www.berghaus.com/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductID=2048&Gear=2

incidentally my last berghaus lasted me 10years and is still going strong but i got bored of red lol.

I'm a security guard outside so thats the main reason i've gone for the high protection...

I need to get myself a decent waterproof, going out in speedboats in January around Plymouth :p

Where did you get yours from?

Sorry, but I can't even think about Berghaus without the little scouse man running round my head shouting "Bbbbeeerrrggghhhaauuussss mmeeerrrtttt"

I was just thinking that...they fell out of fashion around the same time as the shell suit and moptops.

try a chav forum for bergouse advice

There chav jackets are they now??

I wore mine up the black mountains in Wales, and it was ****ing it down. Only cost me about £50 and I was dry the whole time. Well worth the money.

Nice jacket.

I wouldn't feel guilty about spending £120 for a coat. I just spent that on a Merino wool icebreaker jumper and it's worth every penny imo.

um.

Good deal I guess.

Why feel guilty, if the coat lasts another 10 years thats £1 per month for a decent coat. That doen't seem like a lot to me.

I bought a North Face in 99 for £120 in sales and it's still going strong. Fantastic jackets. Nothing wrong with buying quality(quality isn't always directly proportional to price) for where it counts. i.e Coats, Shoes, underwear.

Also got a couple berhaus fleeces. Excellent, one is about 12 years old and the other is nigh on identical bought last year .

Yes, so no

When I worked in an outdoors store we sold nothing but RG1s to snot nosed little chavs. Excellent coats, pay for what you get mind like anything. my mum picked up an older coat in the sales worth about £250 around 5 years ago, still going perfectly strong

Clothing like this annoys me getting classed as chav wear. Its good stuff at a reasonable price, wearing it as designed as its meant to is not chavvy. Grrrrrr.
