hmm what about the cooler master v6GT ??? would it work better in a cooler master case ??? (better airflow)

i think im going to lean towards the cooler master V6GT as its going to be installed into a coolermaster HAF X case anyway

has anyone used this cooler ???

The trouble with the CM V6GT is that it must spin those dual fans at 2200 rpm to compete with other cooler solutions that have fans spinning around 1200-1300 rpm.

I don't think having a CM case gives you any particular advantage when using a CM cooler, although I suppose if you are a big fan of seeing the Cooler Master logo then all well and good.

If you can fit one then the dual radiator type coolers like the Thermalright and Noctua already mentioned would give best results, failing that the Megahalems with a decent fan attached.

It's just that when somone asks which cooler to go for no one jumps in and mentions the Coolermaster. I wonder why?

hmmm im not a fan boy ill go with any manufacture i just fort for £50 it was a good buy as it comes with 2 fans, thermal paste etc..

You'll be much better off going for the Silver Arrow or Megahalems. Looking at reviews, both thrash the V6 with similar speed fans

i dont think the megahalems supports 1156 ???

also will give enough cooling to be able to overclock a i5 760 to 4ghz ???

That makes me feel a bit better, thanks! :)

I am using 2 Akasa viper fans on my Thermalright IFX-14 heatsink which is ancestor of silver arrow and has more or less same design and dimensions with few differences. Check out my thread. At the bottom there is pic comparison of IFX-14 and Cogage Arrow which has similar heatsink design to silverarrow.

For my Q6600@ 3.4Ghz, the coretemps never went above 63C in prime95 and 69C in Intel burn test

Get the silver arrow but make sure you are using RAM with low profile heatsinks and or double check all will fit.
