Intel Core i7-2700K 3.50GHz
HIS HD 7950 3072MB GDDR5
Crucial Ballistix Elite 8GB DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit

I cant imagine any of those components bottle necking each other, Do you guys think it will be ok? :)

Are you in a rush?

Ivy Bridge processors will be out in a few weeks time though probably a little more expensive than the offer prices on Sandy Bridge processors.

You can also get a new Z77 motherboard.

Why are you spending £50 on 8GB of RAM?

Something like this is perfectly adequate:

Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit

And remember the most important component, never skimp on the PSU.

No rush :) im waiting for ivybridge! :D Do you think the IB CPU's will be more expensive? :( My rig is already gonna cost £1500 -___- Also is there actually any difference between the ram i listed and the one you listed? :s

Drop down from the 2700K to the 2500K, if you won't miss hyperthreading (only heavily multithreaded applications will use it such as encoding etc).

The equivalents in Ivy Bridge are 3570K and 3770K. My guess is that you'll see maybe 25 quid of a difference, since Intel isn't going to change the list prices. However you may see a knock on that the 2500K and 2700K drop down in price... also at launch if there's a shortage of chips then demand will force price to rise.

The RAM you listed runs at CAS 8 while the cheaper RAM runs at CAS 9. A benchmark might show a less than 1% difference between then, in real use you'd never notice it.

Ah brilliant thank you :) Quick question while im here... Do you reckon the drop from the 7970 to the 7950 will be significant? i was originally going the 7970 route but i figured for the price it wasn't worth the performance. Or was i wrong?
