or even 3000's?!

Want to check our power usage as it seems a tad on the high side...

One of our 7000's that is fully populated is currently drawing around 3000 watts average - or does this seem normal?! :)

Thats pretty low to be honest, they're specced to draw up to 40A, 3000w at 240v is 12.5A. Hope your power feeds are up to it, we have piles of the things and ended up taking out a whole bunch of racks to make up the power footprint of the blades...

Are they full height or half height blades?

3000 seems a little high to me but then again it also depends on blade type, configuration and how many interconnect bays you have.

Most I can see off the top of my head is 6400w on one of our bladecenters, thats fully populated with half height blades, fibre channel and ethernet switches...

The load on those servers is fairly high so thats probably the top end of what you should see in production. A few storage blades with 15k drives might push it further, I couldn't say for sure...

various...
2 bl480's
10 bl460's
2 BL2x220c's
2 cisco 3020's
2 hp nic passthroughs
1 hp san passthrough
1 4gig brocade
2 onboard admins

guess looking at that maybe 3000 seems reasonable! :D
