Any CAD users?

Ok so i need to draw up something in cad but im completely useless so i dont really know were to start can anyone give me any tips? on easy programs to use? etc (i have tried sketchup but i just cant do it)
I want to draw a 3d football sock if it helps

It's all about trim, extend and offset.

I dont have one...thats why im asking

EDIT: ahh you mentioned SketchUp, its the way forward, wont find one easier.

You do realise that licenses for CAD packages cost thousands of pounds?

or was your OP just a round-about way of asking someone to do one for you?

yea if you cant be bothered doing sketchup tutorials there is pretty much no hope ! its the easiest by far.

what do you need it for ? if its not commercial use you can probably find sock models somewhere on the web

Disco..sketchup is free? and i didnt know if there was any others...
and its for a project for PE..and well if anyone does want to do one then thats fantastic..
i have looked but nothing came up unless im searching wrong?
if there is one then great.

It was the 1st return in the warehouse for sock.

File -> 3D warehouse -> Get Models...

Sure if you look around with better search terms you will get more sport socks rather than Christmas stockings.

I know lol...i have drawn it freehand but i need a 'computer model' to get good marks..

You could try Rhino nurbs modelling. (they have evaluation version)

Should let you just drop an object then use freeform to manipulate it all into a sock.

Might be more what you are thinking of/after

I use SolidWorks for my line of work and that is quite decent, probably not to your needs but its what I use to make models for shielding calcs.

I use Solidworks, Inventor and AutoCAD but only as sketch/model tools.

So what do i do with Rhino exactly?
And Physichull and Kahn..i dont need a full program really as i only want one model and i sketchup isnt really working out...i may just have to do it on paint
