Trying to decide between these two pairs of boots:

Cat Footwear Men's Holton Sb 708026

Cat Footwear Men's Bruiser P711188

I need something comfortable and relatively flexible. Not sure what the difference is (other than price and a slight difference in appearance).

Does anyone own either of these boots? What do you think of them?

(I don't have the option of trying them on in person, none of my local stores stock these boots)

Thanks!

I have worn Cat boots for over 15 years and still have 3 pairs I currently wear. I won't buy another pair though as they have slowly cut corners on the quality and are a shadow of their former selves. The latest pair of boots I bought 3 months ago for work are already knackered and they usually last 12-18 months heavy use and another 6 months light use.

I'd avoid and maybe try Timberland which is what I'll be doing.

Used to have the Holtons, very comfortable after time, took a long time to soften up though, wear a couple of pairs of socks or be prepared to hobble. Have a look at Dickies boots as well, a lot longer lasting in my opinion.

I have the Holton CATs, and they're pretty good. They provide decent ankle support, although they seemed to be quite high up, if that makes sense, at first, but once worn in, they're comfortable. That and paired with a decent pair of socks and they're a good buy. And they're pretty flexible once you've worn them in properly. But I cannot stress enough that you get a decent pair of socks (not £2 Primark sports ones). I actually run in these quite a bit at work (security, etc) and have had no issues.

My boots were damaged in the snow and ice, mind you, they look quite rough now, with small chunks gauged out of them, although they still provide the same amount of waterproofing, etc.

For socks, try Millets. They sell Toe-Cap socks which are very comfortable and are about £10 for two pairs.

I work in a pub. I've not been able to find any suitable shoes in my local high street stores so I thought I'd try proper work boots (as opposed to "fashion" boots).
